This is for a nightmare art competition, where you're supposed to make something with three fears.

the fears here include: falling/heights, scorpions, death, blood. that's about it, i think...

well, they're placement isn't random, but they're not really attacking him either. this isn't really a scene, so much as a flash of thought. just as the skull can be seen in the background, but there isn't literally a giant skull in the sky. it's all symbolic. what one might call, an a-literal image.
